Periodontics is the specialty of dentistry that studies supporting structures of teeth, diseases, and conditions that affect them. The supporting tissues are known as the periodontium, which includes the gingiva (gums), alveolar bone, cementum, and the periodontal ligament. Dr Lee is also trained in the planning and placement of dental implants. To become a periodontist in Australia, an additional 3-year specialist training is required at a recognised institution after becoming a dentist.

Endodontists perform a variety of procedures, which include the following: root canal treatment, non-surgical retreatment (revising an old root canal filling done previously by another dentist), managing cracked teeth, tooth related pain, dental trauma etc. To become an endodontist in Australia, an additional 3-year specialist training is required at a recognised institution after becoming a dentist.

Fee & Payment Policy

The fees for specialist consultation and treatment are determined by the complexity of the case being treated.

Fees are payable at the time of consultation and treatment. It is the policy of this specialist clinic that fees are paid in full on the actual day of appointment with no exceptions. In certain cases that may involve laboratory work, a 50% deposit will be required prior to the start of specialist treatment.

Insurance Information

Health Fund Rebates (HICAPS)

North Sydney Dental Specialists has no relationships with Private Dental Insurance companies or Health Funds. This practice will make every effort to assist patients in interactions with their funds but in the end, the relationship is between the patient and the fund.

North Sydney Dental Specialists do not offer direct electronic rebate collection (HICAPS) from the funds and apologise if this causes any inconvenience. We appreciate accounts being settled by the patient and the appropriate paperwork can then be forwarded to their own health fund.
